What we offer

ASUMA's vision is to be the first centre that comes to mind, and the most trusted, in combating violence. Its mission is to take an active role in the fight against crime, especially violence against women and children, to develop studies and projects to prevent violence, and to make sure those projects go beyond theory and bring practical benefit.

Its fields of practice are violence (detection and documentation, protection of victims, prevention, profiling of assailants and victims, and sociological, criminological and psychological analysis of cases) and crime (victims' rights, prison studies especially for children, crime prevention in schools and support for individual disarmament). Its basic activities are research and projects, conferences, panels and congresses, mapping, risk analysis, periodic reports, modelling of protective strategies, preventive practices and awareness-raising about rights. The centre notes that data on crime and violence are very limited in Türkiye and works to improve the evidence base.
