Research goals of the School of Medicine
Enhancing the productivity, quality and impact of research is one of the primary goals of the School of Medicine’s strategic plan. Over the past five years the faculty has produced an average of nearly 400 full-length articles or reviews a year, with 5–10% involving students; about 60% appear in Q1 or Q2 journals and the five-year Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI) is around 1.0, in line with the global average. According to Web of Science data for 2020–2024, surgery, neurology, oncology, internal medicine and pediatrics stand out among the fields of publication.
