Neuroradiology Application and Research Center
Advanced MRI research: SWI, ASL, intraoperative MRI, MR spectroscopy, diffusion tensor imaging and fMRI, with support for high-field MRI projects across Türkiye.

What we offer
Neuroradiology and magnetic resonance imaging is a rapidly advancing discipline supported by state-of-the-art technologies and advanced imaging systems. Over many years the faculty of the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurological Sciences, Radiology and Pathology have accumulated extensive expertise through clinical practice, patient care, surgery and research, resulting in numerous internationally recognised publications and books. To strengthen research in neurological sciences and neuroradiology, the Center for Neuroradiology Research and Practice was established in September 2011.
Its primary areas of focus are clinical studies using advanced MRI sequences such as susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) and arterial spin labelling (ASL); sequence optimisation and contrast-agent applications in intraoperative MRI; research on cellular pathology and brain tumours with MR spectroscopy; central and peripheral nervous system research with diffusion tensor imaging and fibre tractography; psychiatric research with functional MRI; training qualified researchers in advanced MRI techniques; contributing to the graduate programmes of the Institute of Health Sciences; and providing technical and practical support for research projects using high-field MRI systems throughout Türkiye.
