What we offer

The Health Policy Application and Research Center (SPM) contributes to national and international health policy through research, publications and the Sector Meetings series that brings public, private and academic actors together. Its twelve sector meetings to date have covered clinical research (7th, 2019, with the Rector, the Dean of the School of Medicine, TİTCK, TÜSEB, AIFD and industry), long-term care (10th), the Turkish biotechnological drug sector and global opportunities (11th, October 2019) and stakeholders and expectations in rare diseases (12th, December 2019, moderated with ACURARE).

The centre has also organised a horizon-scanning workshop on medicines and medical devices in Ankara, two disaster-health workshops with the Incubation Center and Beylikdüzü Municipality, and a round table on the role of private hospitals in the viral hepatitis control programme with the Deputy Minister of Health. Its Health Policy e-bulletin (eight issues) carries articles on health management, disaster planning, value-based diabetes management and rare diseases. Strategic plans and annual reports from 2015–2016 to 2018–2019 are published on the university site. The centre is directed by Asst. Prof. Efe Onganer; its founding director was Prof. S. Haluk Özsarı.
