Prof. Fehime Aksungar

Prof. Fehime Aksungar is a member of the Department of Medical Biochemistry at Acıbadem University School of Medicine. After Kadıköy Anatolian High School and Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty she spent a year in the Department of Pediatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami, and completed her clinical biochemistry residency at Marmara University School of Medicine.

With 22 years of experience in clinical biochemistry, she works on method development for routine biochemical tests, toxicology and metabolic screening on ICP-MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS and AAS systems, and studies the effects of prolonged fasting and ketogenic diet models on neurons in TÜBİTAK-funded projects. She is an ISO 15189 medical laboratory technical assessor for the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK), has numerous international and national publications with more than 600 citations, and is a member of the IFCC and WASPaLM Value Proposition in Laboratory Medicine Committee.
