What we work on
The Acıbadem University Pediatrics Research Group, led by Prof. Serdar Beken, studies neonatal and paediatric outcomes in close connection with the hospital's clinical services. Recent publications cover the early postnatal metabolic profile of neonates with critical congenital heart disease, risk factors for acute kidney injury after congenital heart surgery and its effect on survival, the importance of prenatal diagnosis for the neonatal arterial switch operation, and whether the definition of small-for-gestational-age needs to be re-evaluated.
The group welcomes all students with scientific curiosity.
