Prof. Güralp Onur Ceyhan is a general surgeon and the lead of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Center (PANKAM) at Acıbadem University. The centre's team studies the interaction between nerves and cancer cells in pancreatic cancer, from the neural niche in which tumour cells survive neoadjuvant therapy to the sensory neurons that drive progression through neuron–cancer pseudo-synapses.

His recent work with the PANKAM team and partners in Munich appears in Cancer Cell, Cancer Letters, Science Signaling and Langenbeck's Archives of Surgery. He also supervises the School of Medicine's Pancreatic Diseases student research group.
