Dr. Mahsa Zirak Sima is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. She completed her graduate studies in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Tabriz, Iran, and received her PhD in 2022.
In her doctoral work she applied artificial intelligence, machine learning and optimisation methods to compiler-optimisation problems, developing deep reinforcement learning and evolutionary optimisation algorithms for the loop-fusion problem. The work showed the effectiveness of AI-based methods on optimisation problems with high computational cost.
Her research has been published in SCI-Expanded and Scopus journals. Her main areas are artificial intelligence, machine learning, algorithms, optimisation, pattern recognition and computer science and engineering, combining classical computational methods with modern AI techniques.
She teaches Artificial Intelligence, AI in Healthcare, Natural Language Processing, Reinforcement Learning and Operating Systems at undergraduate and graduate level.
