Prof. Güldal Süyen founded Süyen Lab, which brings together researchers from medicine, engineering, veterinary medicine and biology. The group focuses on neurological diseases, with particular emphasis on epilepsy and autism, and aims to contribute to biomarker discovery and new treatment approaches.
Current projects include NMR-based metabolomic profiling of epileptogenesis in a lithium–pilocarpine rat model (ABAPKO, 2023–2024), the effects of CDP-choline and uridine monophosphate in a valproic acid model of autism (ABAPKO, 2024–2025), and two TÜBİTAK 2214-A collaborations with the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience in Norway and UC San Diego. She is Vice Chair of the university's Animal Experiments Local Ethics Committee (ACU-HADYEK) and leads the Behaviour, Epilepsy and Autism student research team.
