Asst. Prof. Elçim Elgün Kırımlı is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering and part of the ACU Biosensors and Computational Biomedicine Laboratory (ACU-BCBL), which operates within the Biomaterials Application and Research Center. Her work combines impedance spectroscopy and quartz crystal microbalance measurements with machine learning to push the limit of detection of biosensors.
She is a researcher on the TÜBİTAK 2515 COST project developing a point-of-care, IoT-integrated multiplex nanosensor for the early diagnosis of acute kidney injury after coronary artery bypass, within the PerMediK Action (CA21165). Recent publications include work in IEEE Sensors Journal, ACS Omega and Scientific Reports.

Point-of-care IoT-integrated multiplex nanosensor for acute kidney injury after coronary artery bypass
Development and pilot clinical validation of a point-of-care, IoT-integrated multiplex nanosensor for the early diagnosis of acute kidney injury following coronary artery bypass in individuals with and without chronic kidney disease, with big-data integration. Led by Prof. Saniye Söylemez, Necmettin Erbakan University.
